Arterio-venous Malformation Clinic (AVM)

The AVM clinic is composed of a multidisciplinary team dedicated to the care and study of conditions affecting, or arising from, the blood vessels of the brain. Our clinical group is composed of neurosurgeons, interventional neuroradiologists, radiation oncologists and acute care nurse practitioners

Aneurysm Clinic

Centre for Advanced Hearing and Balance Testing (TGH)

At the Centre for Advanced Hearing and Balance, we assess hearing, speech, and communication needs. Assessments include oculo-motor (eye movement) and vestibular (balance) function and reflex that controls eye movement and hearing for patients complaining of balance disorders. We also conduct advanced audio-vestibular tests.

Epilepsy Clinic

Located at Toronto Western Hospital, the Epilepsy Clinic specializes in patients with hard to control (refractory) seizures, women with epilepsy and patients who are potential surgical candidates. The team of neurologists, psychiatrists and social workers specialize in collaborative care of patients using the newest therapies and treatments for controlling seizures.

Evoked Potentials

Patients with neurodegenerative disorders such as multiple sclerosis or myelin disorders are referred to Evoked Potentials (a system that measures the brain's response to stimuli) for specialized testing.

Gerry & Nancy Pencer Brain Tumor Centre

The Gerry & Nancy Pencer Brain Tumor Centre was founded to provide information, treatment and support for brain tumor patients and their families all in one “Centre of Excellence”. Our mission is to provide multidisciplinary care, treatment and support for brain tumor patients and their families as well as promote clinical and translational (related to basic scientific principles) brain tumor research.

Hearing and Balance Laboratories (TWH)

At the Centre for Advanced Hearing and Balance, we conduct a variety of tests to identify hearing and balance problems. Services include hearing tests, site of lesion testing, central auditory processing testing, vestibulary testing including electronystagmogram (ENG) and caloric testing.

Memory Clinic

The Memory Clinic provides specialized service for people with memory loss and dementia. Diagnosis and intervention are provided for people concerned about changes in their memory or the memory of someone they care about.

Morton and
Gloria Shulman Movement Disorders Centre


The Morton and Gloria Shulman Movement Disorders Centre is a National Parkinson Foundation Centre of Excellence. Our specialized staff of neurologists, neurophysiologists and nurses focus on patients who have movement disorders such as Parkinson's disease, essential tremor and dystonia and the assessment and care of patients who have undergone neurosurgical procedures such as deep brain stimulation.

Neuromuscular Clinic

The Neuromuscular Clinic provides electrical testing of nerves and muscles. The EMG (electromyography) test helps evaluate nerve entrapments and muscle as well as other medical problems that might require the need for an EMG test.

Neuro-Oncology Clinic

The Neuro-Oncology Clinic provides treatment and follow-up for patients with brain or nervous system tumors. Our clinic provides access to social workers, nurses, and a resource centre with computers and printed materials to facilitate information access for patients.

Neuro-ophthalmology Clinic

The Neuro-Ophthalmology Clinic at Toronto Western Hospital provides specialized diagnostic and management services to patients with disorders of sight and eye movements. Services include visual field, visual electrophysiology, ocular motor and vestibular.

Neuro-otology Clinic (TGH)

The Neuro-Otology Clinic is a multidisciplinary clinic operated through the Department of Otolaryngology. This clinic help s patients with balance disorders through the c omprehensive assessment and diagnosis of otologic and neuro-otologic status.

Neuro-otology Clinic (TWH)

The Neuro-Otology Clinic at Toronto Western Hospital provide assistance to individuals with disorders causing dizziness, impaired balance, and hearing problems. Services include consultations for diagnosis and treatment of neuro-otological disorders and advanced diagnostic tests for hearing, balance and inner ear disorders.

Neurophysiology Lab

The neurophysiology labs provides electroencephalography (EEG), evoked potentials (EP) and the epilepsy monitoring unit (EMU).

Neuropsychology Clinic

The neuropsychology clinic provides assessment and consultation services to inpatient and outpatient clinics within the Krembil Neuroscience Program. We evaluate how diseases and disorders such as stroke, Parkinson’s and epilepsy may affect cognitive functioning (memory, language and problem-solving).

Pain Program

The Comprehensive Pain Program provides inpatient and outpatient facilities devoted to research and management of chronic pain. Services include the assessment and diagnosis of chronic pain problems.

Pituitary Clinic

Toronto Western Hospital's Pituitary Program is a collaborative, multi-disciplinary program for the care of patients with tumors and other disorders of the pituitary gland, and for the research into pituitary tumors, pituitary gland function and other pituitary disorders.

Toronto Western Hospital's Pre-admit Clinic ensures all tests, assessments and educational information are available to patients and family prior to surgery.

Sleep & Alertness Clinic

The principal activities of the 9-bed Sleep and Alertness Clinic include the management of the full spectrum of sleep disorders. The clinic serves the Greater Toronto Area community, UHN clinics and departments and also provides tertiary care for patients from around the country.

Sleep Lab/Disorders Clinic

This clinic is devoted to the assessment of sleep disorders with a particular emphasis on snoring and sleep apnea. Our physicians have special training in sleep disorders medicine and are involved in groundbreaking clinical research.

Spine Cord Clinic

The Spine Cord Clinic is the ambulatory portion of Toronto Western Hospital's Spine Program. It is a multidisciplinary clinic focused on the care of patients experiencing medical and surgical disorders of the spine and Spine cord.

Stroke Prevention Clinic

The Toronto Western Stroke Prevention Clinic provides a comprehensive, interdisciplinary approach to stroke prevention through aggressive treatment of risk factors. It is for people with or without symptoms of stroke-related problems but who are at high risk for stroke.

Swallowing Centre

The Swallowing Clinic provides an assessment and consultation service to people with oropharyngeal swallowing disorders. Services include evaluation by a speech-language pathologist and consultation with other health professionals, such as dietitians and gastroenterologists

Tourette's Syndrome Clinic

The Tourette Syndrome Clinic at Toronto Western Hospital is the oldest and largest such clinic in Canada. The clinic provides ongoing care for the local population and acts as a specialized referral centre providing assessmen t, consultation, pharmacotherapy follow-up and family counseling and cognitive therapy for children and adults.
