Cancer research is the priority at the Ontario Cancer Institute, one of University Health Network's three research institutes.
Researchers here employ state-of-the-art tools in genomics, proteomics, structural biology, molecular biology, biophysics and the behavioural sciences.
With these tools they analyze cancerous cells at the molecular level; test gene and cellular therapies for cancer and other diseases; develop new technologies for diagnosing and treating cancer; determine the effects of diet and behaviour on cancer risks; and develop and test informatics tools for the large-scale analysis of patient populations.
Advanced Medical Discovery Institute

The Campbell Family Institute for Breast Cancer Research
Part of OCI, this institute joins together basic, translational and clinical research and will focus on developing new drugs and therapies that are more effective, less toxic and can increase a patient's quality and length of life.
