The term “best practice” is a phrase that is used a lot in health care, along with similar watchwords of “evidence based practice”, “leading practice”, “next practice” and “knowledge use”. All of these terms speak to research, knowledge generation and mobilization, research driven practice and protocols that contribute to the knowledge generation and development of one’s own professional field in order to enhance and improve safe and ethical patient care. Best practices come to life through education and learning, as well as great team work and integration of that new knowledge.
